Skill training programme in fish processing for SHGs

 

A skill oriented training cum method demonstration programme on Eco-friendly harvest methods and fortified fish soup preparation was organized from 17-19th May by ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology(CIFT), Cochin in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra,Lower Dibang Valley at  three villages namely Rukmo, Jia and Bolung.

Dr M.M. Prasad, Principal Scientist and Head Microbiology, Fermentation and Biotechnology, Dr. S.K. Panda and Dr. V.R. Madhu Principal Scientists from ICAR-CIFT  actively participated as resource persons and shared information on eco-friendly harvest of fishes from  different water bodies and  post harvest management of fishes for marketing of hygienic and good quality fish  to consumers..

Mrs.Nanang Tamut, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science), KVK, Lower Dibang Valley educated members of active SHGs on value addition in farm produce for higher income. Mr.Rousan Kumar, Fisheries Expert, NHPC,Roing shared information on departmental programmes available   to sustain livelihood of fisher-folks. Dr. T.J. Ramesha, Senior Scientist & Head,Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lower Dibang Valley urged fisher folks to adopt scientific technologies for better fish harvest and improvement of socio-economic status. A total of  60  farm women  from six active SHGs actively participated and immensely benefitted from the programme.
