Farmer Scientist Interaction cum Awareness Programme on Pulses held  at Walong

KVK Anjaw organized two day Farmer Scientist Interaction cum Awareness Programme on International Year of Pulses 2016 on 6 and 7th October, 2016 Under ATMA (Agriculture Technology Management Agency at Walong Village (Walong Circle). Dr. Manish Kanwat, Programme Coordinator, Khoisnam Naveen SMS, Agronomy, Prasanta Mahanta, Farm Manager KVK Anjaw and T.T. Hai, HDO Anjaw attended the said programme from ICAR, KVK Anjaw and State Horticulture Department. All together 52 farmers including farmers, farm women and rural youth attended two days farmer scientist interactions and awareness programme. Dr, Manish Kanwat Programme Coordinator started the interaction session by giving brief introduction about KVK and its activities.During the interaction programme, sustainability and livelihood improvement through Integrated Farming System, importance of fishery and also problems relating to lodging in rice, new varieties being introduced were discuss.  Kh. Naveen SMS, Agronomy delivered a lecture on cultivation of different pulses on International Year of Pulses 2016, its scope and importance and nutritional benefits of pulses as part of sustainable food production aimed towards food security and nutrition.
