Diagnostic Visit by KVK West Siang, Basar

 

Basar, the 11th June, 2015:

A team comprised of Shri A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator, KVK West Siang and Shri Debasis Datta conducted a diagnostic field visit to Shri Nyato Riba’s polyhouse in which Tomato and King Chilly are grown successfully. During the visit, the team observed the symptoms of powdery mildew in Tomato and infestation of insects in King chilly for which the control measures have been advocated. Further, the team proceeded to Shri Nyato Basar’s field at Nyigam village where he is growing varieties of crops like cowpea, frenchbean, soybean, blackgram, ricebean, bhindi, bottle gourd, cucumber, maize, sugarcane, etc. The seeds of soybean (JS-335) and blackgram (T-9) were received from Shri Goken Dirchi of Ichi village under Daring circle one of the most successful, sincere and devoted worker who are involved in the OFT and FLD programmes of KVK West Siang. In his field, the team observed the severe infestation of bottle gourd by fruit flies for which the control measures have been advocated by the team. Then, the team visited Shri Todak Basar of Nyigam and observed that the tomato grown under polyhouse have been affected by powdery mildew and moisture stress for which the control measures have been advocated and immediate life saving irrigation has been suggested.
