Training on Backyard poultry production for livelihood improvement of rural area held at Sawmikemp, Anjaw.

 

ICAR, KVK Anjaw impart Training on Backyard poultry production for livelihood improvement of rural area held at Sawmikemp, Anjaw on 1st October 2016. Altogether 20 tribal rural youths have attended the training programe including school dropout and unemployed youths.   

Dr. Tilling Tayo, SMS-Animal Science, KVK Anjaw, briefly presented on all the aspect of Backyard poultry management right from housing, brooding, feeding and disease management from day old chicks to production stage, through power point  presentation along with distribution of printing materials. As per the respondent question, disease management was thoroughly discussed because most common problem in poultry production in rural area is outbreak of Ranikhet and fowl pox disease apart from other disease. Vaccination schedule and from where vaccine to procure and route of vaccination where thought and clear their doubts, where ever question arise. Applauding the youths, he exhorted that youths are future parents of modern word and cornerstone of community, society and district as a whole. The district scenario of livestock and poultry cannot be improve unless youths and women are not involved to bring desirable change.

Mr. Matlum Mai, an enthusiasm social activist, delivering the vote of thanks. He encourage the rural youths to come forwards to work hard towards development of Anjaw district by engaging towards different agri and allied sector, like counter part of other district. All the meat and vegetable available in the market comes from Tinsukia or Tezu with negligible amount produce by local farmers of district. Money is siphon to adjacent district instead of circulation within the district, because of lack of much interest in agri and allied sector except for large cardamom. Further he asked the SMS (Animal Science) to organize in all the bock and circle of entire Anjaw district to sensitize the technical knowhow regarding poultry framing in coming days.

Earlier Mr. S. Peter Singh (SMS-Social Sciences), KVK Anjaw, suggest the rural youths to form a self-help group (SHG) of like mind youths in livestock and poultry sector. He is always ready to extend his support in forming common interest group to be register under NABARD to avail the benefits entitlement under SHG.
