Technology infusion of Tribal Farmers through Vanaraja Poultry

 

Two days training programme on Scientific Poultry Production was conducted under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar, during 24th and 25th July, 2015. Progressive tribal farmers from Papum Pare, Upper Subansiri and West Siang attended the programme. They were provided inputs like Vanaraja poultry birds, feeds, medicines, watering & feeding items. Chief Guest Dr (Smt.) Pagi Basar, DVO, Aalo, highlighted various activities of veterinary department in West Siang District and appraised the role of ICAR Basar. Dr. R. Bhagawati, Joint Director, ICAR Basar, briefed about the various farmers friendly location-specific technologies for Arunachal Pradesh conditions. Dr. Doni Jini, Scientist (V.E.E, ICAR Basar), course coordinator of the training programme, delivered lecture cum demonstrations at ICAR Research Farm, Gori, on improved location-specific poultry husbandry practices in respect to climate change situation. The farmers and other stake holders appreciated the various activities of ICAR, Basar for their effort towards the farming community of Arunachal Pradesh and express active participation in such future endeavor.
