Division of Animal Health, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya organized training programme and distributed inputs to farmers

 

Division of Animal Health, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya organised one day training programme on “Livelihood Improvement Programme Through Agricultural Interventions” on 14.03.18. at Umshorshor village, under Umsning Block of Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya. Mr. E. Syiemlieh and Mr. R. S. Wahlang , Headman and  Secretary of the Village, respectively graced the occasion. During this programme awareness on various animal husbandry practices were given to the farmers of the village by  Dr. R. Laha, Principal Scientist and Dr. Arun P. Milton, Scientist of the Division. Training programme was followed by Animal Health Camp where Veterinary Medicines, Supplements etc. were distributed among the farmers.  Besides, inputs in the form of poultry chicks were also distributed among farmers of this village to improve their livelihood. A total of 55 numbers of farmers of this village were benefited through this programme. The programme was funded by Tribal Sub Plan, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya.  Dr. R. Laha, Principal Scientist and Co-coordinator of the programme thanks Dr. Narendra Prakash, Director of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, Dr. S. Hazarika, Principal Scientist & Head, NRM Division and Nodal Officer of TSP of the Institute, Dr. A. Sen, Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Animal Health, Dr. A. Milton, Scientist, Division of Animal Health, Headman and Secretary of the village and farmers for support and attend the programme.
